Boodie, the feelgood hoodie

health, social design, Wellbeing

We’ve been inspired by this little critter, the Boodie, a symbol of resilience.

Burrowing Bettong (or often referred to as Boodie in western and southern Australia), are a small, thick-set, kangaroo-like animal and they are the only macropod to construct and permanently shelter in burrows. The Boodie is active at night when it forages for fungi, roots, and other plant matter. It is about the size of a rabbit and, like most marsupials, carries its young in a pouch.

NAH-ja! is currently working with Studio STRRR and the fashion designers of New Order of Fashion, Anouk van der EL, Valentine Tinchant and Grietje Schepers to develop the Boodie, the feel-good hoodie.

Design Inspiration
From Boodie to Hoodie, from vest to pouch!

Boodie, the feelgood Hoodie draws inspiration from the boodie’s earthy colors—soft browns and grays reminiscent of the Australian landscape.
Its hood, like the boodie’s burrow, provides warmth and shelter.

Positive Vibes
When you slip into your Boodie Hoodie, think of the boodie’s resilience. Just as the boodie adapted to changing circumstances, so can we face life’s challenges with determination and grace.

Pockets of Joy
The hoodie’s front pocket mirrors the boodie’s pouch.
Imagine carrying small soft treasures—a seashell, a lucky charm, or even a tiny marsupial figurine—in that cozy pocket.

Boodie, the feelgood Hoodie isn’t just a piece of clothing; it’s a reminder of the interconnectedness of your inner self and the outer world. As you wear it, embrace the spirit of the burrowing bettong—the tenacity to thrive even in adversity. Let’s celebrate the boodie and cherish our shared planet.

So next time you zip up your Boodie Hoodie, remember the little critter that inspired it—a creature that burrows deep into our hearts. 🌿🦘🧡
